Posted on: April 15th, 2014 by Jessica Unger | AFR, Pittsburgh, PA

AFR-PGH conducted its spring meeting on March 13. Following a presentation (“Housing & Storage for Cultural Heritage: How Do Storage Materials Perform Over Time and in Disasters?”) by local book and paper conservator Amy Williams, the group toured the new Preservation Lab at the main branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. The group’s MayDay program is scheduled for May 9. Their speaker will be Mike Beach, assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, who has participated in large-scale disaster responses in Haiti and New Orleans. Elections for the 2014–15 Steering Committee will be held in June.
